Shellfish
Underwood’s Shellfish Ltd is a crab factory producing various
crab and crabmeat products from its base at Plymouth Fish Market.
It has been at its premises for the last 11 years although the managing
director Mr Brian Underwood is the 3rd generation of his family employed
in the crab industry.
We can produce crabmeats in various forms of packaging 12 months
of the year, as we have an excellent supply of raw material from
crab boats fishing from Plymouth and Falmouth.
With many new health regulations that have appeared in the food
industry over the last 10 years, we have facilities to produce
the crabmeat to meet the standards needed by customers. We can
also pasteurise to increase the shelf life, so that the crabmeat
can be consumed as much as 3 weeks after being taken out of the
shell.
